Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's initial trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Victory also means Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 different events.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.

His defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on court had led commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an better serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

Moutet defended 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
